With over 30 years of teaching experience, Peter brings more than a decade of leadership expertise. He has served as Head at two independent schools in the UK, both catering to students aged 4 to 18. Previously, Peter was the Principal of Ewell Castle School in Surrey and is now the Head of Birkdale School in Sheffield. A geographer by training, he holds an MSc in Leadership and Management in Education and the NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship). Like Durham School, both Birkdale and Ewell Castle are members of The Heads’ Conference (HMC), a prestigious professional association for leaders of the world’s top independent schools. In their most recent Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) inspection, both the Prep and Senior Schools at Birkdale received the highest grading of ‘Excellent’ in academic achievement and personal development.
