Since its founding in January 2021, Durham International School Kenya has maintained a clear vision and an unwavering ambition to evolve into a comprehensive, all-through school. We are thrilled to announce the next exciting phase of our journey: our new Rosslyn campus, planned to open in September 2025.

Our Rosslyn facility will accommodate students in the Upper Prep School from Years 2 to 6 (ages 6 to 11), as well as the new Senior School from Year 7 to Sixth Form (ages 11 to 18).
The Senior School plans to open for students in Years 7 to 9 (ages 11 to 13) in September 2025 and will continue to expand each year to include the IGCSE and A Level programmes (ages 14 to 18).
Designed with sustainability and a respect for Kenya’s natural beauty, the new campus features stone and wood finishes, coupled with contemporary aesthetics. Large, open spaces and classrooms that open to outdoor areas create a vibrant, indoor-outdoor learning experience that takes full advantage of Nairobi's mild climate. Landscaping will focus on natural planting of indigenous trees and shrubs along the gentle slopes of the site to recreate woodland and interesting walks.
Our modern, purpose-built campus will provide a dynamic educational environment designed to inspire excellence in both academics and personal development. It will feature state-of-the-art learning spaces, cutting-edge educational technologies, and a team of exceptional teachers and leaders.
The extensive sports facilities at the Rosslyn campus include a full-size football pitch, a 25-metre, 8-lane heated swimming pool, and multi-purpose courts.
These facilities will provide a wide range of opportunities for sporting activities and competitions, including football, hockey, rugby, cricket, swimming, basketball, netball, and tennis.

Our new campus is situated in Red Hill, a charming Nairobi neighbourhood known for its lush greenery and tree-lined lanes. While the area offers a forest-like atmosphere, it is conveniently located between the commercial areas of Westlands and Nairobi's CBD, and Gigiri, which is home to the UN and many international organisations and embassies. The Senior School is also just a short distance from our existing Thigiri location, which will continue to serve our Early Years students, allowing for an easy transition as they enter Year 3 at age 7.
At Durham Kenya students explore and discover, create and innovate, question and problem solve, work together and individually as they focus on big ideas and their passions. Through play and project based hands-on experiences which foster social interaction and ignite creativity and imaginative thinking, students become independent, self-confident, inquisitive and enthusiastic learners.
